    About Elm

    Changing Lives,
    One Child at a Time.

Providing safety, stability, and a future full of possibilities—because every child deserves care, support, and the chance to thrive.

    What We Stand For.

    Putting Children First

Every decision we make is centred around the well-being, safety, and development of the young people in our care.

    Compassionate & Skilled Team

Our experienced professionals offer unwavering support, guidance, and care to help children feel secure and confident in their future.

    Empowering Positive Change

We don’t just provide care—we equip young people with the tools, encouragement, and stability they need to thrive.

    Our Mentor Programme.

We also offer all our young people 1:1 mentoring from professionals and individuals with ‘lived experience’ via our partners Queensberry AP. This provides credibility and a ‘safe space’ where they can be open and honest about their own experiences.

The mentoring programme educates our young people around:

    • What is exploitation and how people are groomed?
    • The impacts/consequences of being criminally exploited.
    • The risks of youth violence
    • The impacts/consequences of being involved in violent crime.
    • Life within the criminal justice system
    • How to become more resilient
    • How to manage aggression
    • Ways to reduce their level of risk.

    Our Educational and Development Pathway.

Our approach also involves delivering not only the national curriculum but working with our specialist education partners Promise Education to offer bespoke AQA qualifications, focused on the young person’s hobbies and interests.

    • Self-Growth and Confidence: The program is a gateway to an exciting world of exploration and self-discovery, helping children push their limits and build confidence.
    • Skill Development: It helps develop character, leadership skills, and practical skills like using a Trangia (camping stove).
    • Achieving Goals: The DofE allows young people to set and achieve goals, providing a sense of accomplishment and fulfilment that lasts a lifetime.
    • Improved Life Skills: Participation can lead to improved life skills, teamwork, and resilience — qualities highly valued by employers and educational institutions.

Finally, our goal is to help these young men leave our care with the skills and knowledge to walk into full-time employment. This is achieved by encouraging them to enrol with one of our many apprenticeship partners, including the Skills Construction Centre and 4Tech Moto.

More Than Just a Care Home.

We create a space where young people feel at home. A place where they can express themselves, build trust, and develop the confidence to take on life’s challenges. From emotional support to practical life skills, we ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
